The sprint began. Wins man called Lempre . And another one from Treviso Mirco Lorenzettooooo at seasonal tris after the double of Giro di Sardegna!

Lorenzetto has won over Grega Bole (Amica Chips), Manuel Belletti (Diquigiovanni) and Petacchi (Lpr)

 Kvachuk has been reached! Now it's Lampre to command the operations. The second group is at 1'35"

Up till now the excellent action of Kvachuk and Gourev. And, such as in the previous turn, meanwhile two road beaters attack the ascent of Sarone- Cave, the group crosses the centre of Caneva in front of the turn counter that signs -3 at the end. The rain becomes slighter.

2° GPM - The passage identical as the previous one with Kvachuk that precedes Gourev who is a little bit in delay.

The average of the 3rd hour of the race: 42,333 km/h.

The third position 8' there comes  Cheula (Barloworld) that leads the group.  

km 122Kvachuk and Gourev start the ascent and the group is leaving Caneva now with 8'40" of delay.
km 119,3Left Fiaschetti behind, the race head goes towards the second ascent of Sarona-Cava. The locality where, in 1991, Gianni Bugno became an Italian champion

In the third position Diego Caccia (Barloworld)  at 9'

About thirty cyclists left the group launching themselves while the weather is always worse.

Continuing ups and downs of Pedemontana, the race arrives at Giais.

Again the timing, Kvachuk and Gourov have 8' over Hasanovic and 10'35" over the group, where we can notice the men from Lpr, Barloworld and Miche at commando.

Meanwhile the race team head passes for Grizzo locality, the meteo conditions are getting worse and worse.

It's raining heavily now over the 31st Giro of Friuli. 

  
km 84,500At Ponte Ravedis Kvachuk and Gourov proceed with no interference with their action. The average velocity of the 2nd hour of this race is of 43,000 km/h.

The group is timed at 10'40"! 

km 79,600The flying goal point at Maniago it taken by Oleksander Kvachuk (Isd) before his adventure mate Maxim Gourov (Carmioro Asstyle).

Hasanovic continues to lose the earth under his feet and gains the delay of 5'10".

There is no trace of the group...

km 74,000The situation of the race is clear now! Whilst the Giro of Friuli points towards Maniago for the flying goal point, the rain is falling over the race, light but tiresome one.

km 69,000At Seaquals fork ( the tribute for mythical Primo Carnera) Hasanovic has 3' of delay to fugitive Kvachuk and Gourov.

When passing for Valeriano it begins to rain. The temperature is of  10°C.

Hasanovic loses the earth under his feet and is timed at 2'18".

The group is very very postponed!

km 59,000The Tagliamento river has been passed again and now the territory of Pordenone. At Pinzano Gourov and Kvachuk have 1'40'" over Hasanovic.

There grows again the difference between the group signaled at 4'30"!

km 56,00At S. Pietro there are always two road beaters at commando. In few km the Giro of Friuli reenters in the province of Pordenone. 
km 54,500At Ragogna, there gets composed again the commando couple of Kvachuk and Gourov. At 1'12" follows the solitary Hasanovic. The group is at 2'38".
km 50,500At S.Daniele, where exactly finishes the classic for Elite and U23, the flying goal post is won by the solitary attack man Kvachuk over Gourov at 8". The third is  Esad Hasanovic (Centri della Calzatura) exactly at 1". The group is posted at 1'25".
km 48,000 Varso S.Daniele, Kvachuk has 10" over Gourov. The group is at 38".
km 46,700 The valley way at Gìavons and Gourov looses contact with Kvachuk.
km 44,100The Passage of  Rodeano Basso and they are in two to attack: Maxim Gourov (Carmioro) and Oleksander Kvachuk (Isd)

km 41,00 Enrico Franzoi (Liquigas), the new pro' Fabrizio Amerighi (Corratec) and Grabovsky (Isd) try to recover Solari and Hasanivic.
km 40,00Having left Carpacco behind, the Giro del Friuli awakens thanks to the new attack. To open it there are Luca Solari (Diquigiovanni) and Esad Hasanovic (Centri della Calzatura).
km 38,000 Everything remains the same at the commando group. The meteo conditions didn't change meanwhile. The cyclists run during the typical day of the classic race in North.
km 35,00Passed the Tagliamento river, the 31st Giro del Friuli enters in the province of Udine. The united group crosses the living center of Dignanon, whilst the road ceases to be the plain one as it was in the first 30 km.

The group is united at Spilimbergo.
 The bridge on Cellina river has been passed. The race heads for  Spilimbergo. We are always in Pordenone province. At km 50 there will be the first climb of the day where the cyclists will climb on a San Daniele del Friuli,
km 25,000The velocity is maintained in the head of the race and nobody feels like getting exposed. 
  
km 23,000THE GROUP IS UNITED
km 21,000Polish Bodnar  (Liquigas) has only 9" to the group directed by da Flaminia e Lpr. The chase is in the air.
km 19,000The advantage of Bodnar goes down. Now it's only of 18".
km 16,000New timing: Bodnar is pedalling alone with the margin of 31" respect to the group.
km 15,000There is nothing to do for Fournet Fayard.

km 14,00Now it's Sebastien Fournet Fayard (Carmioro) to start the chase.Bodnar has 20" of advantage. The group follows at 35",

Two chasers are reached by the group. Bodnar is always alone in his leadership.
  
km 11,00Niemec and Navardauskas (Team Piemonte) start to chase Bodnar.

Also Niemec has been taken down meanwhile at the passage of  S.Quirino it's Bodnar (Liquigas) to leave  dust behind him.

  There starts the transfer for the officila street of S.Valentino.
 10.20 The group gets in line for the short transfer.
  Ovation also for Petacchi, one of favourites of this Giro del Friuli
  The three color shirt of  Alessandro Ballan has been welcomed with the ovation at Largo Gregorio.
  There come Marzio Bruseghin and Franco Pellizotti, both with their season debut. Next Ivan Basso  andAle Petacchi. Then comes the home runner, the ex three color Enrico Gasparotto, Mirco Lorenzetto, Giovanni Visconti and Oscra Gatto

Good morning everybody from Pordenone! The 2009 live report  season of ciclonews.it starts this year with the 31st Giro del Friuli Venezia Giulia, the classic of professional italian cycling sport that comes back after 5 years. The last winner was Michele Gobbi from Vicenza in 2004.

Just at one hour before the start there take place at Largo Gregorio ,in front of the Province Seat (that's also the seat of the official presentation) the preliminaries for the set off.

It's a  cloudy day up here, the temperature is of 9°.
